Hello there!
This is your conductor, Kim, and welcome to our 20th season as your California Pops Orchestra. Bigger, better and more fun than ever!
Just take a look over to the right. Five great new shows for you and your whole family. I've invited some of our wonderful friends to join the Pops as guest artists this season and I'm sure they will become your friends too.
Guests this season include the international award winning Side Street Strutters.
The Pops Holiday show is a delight for all ages where the audience joins the singing of seasons favorites. February's show is a Silver Screen spectacular featuring music from the Silent films to mega hit films. Back by popular demand is the amazing 1920's and 1930's pianist Frederick Hodges. Talented, debonair, funny and an encyclopedic mastery of the repertoire making this show a real toe-tapper.
April's swing shows will feature West Coast big band, The Black Tie Jazz Orchestra, right there on stage with the Pops for all you hip, swingin', romantic fans. There will be more hits by Miller, Dorsey, Goodman, Ellington, Shaw and more. The best of Swing.
And to close out the season, by special request and special arrangement we're bringing you the incredible "Flying Karamazov Brothers". Performed on PBS, Broadway and the Cincinnati Pops.
I can't wait and I hope you can't either. It's great to see you again and we look forward to "making beautiful music together."
See you at the show!
Kim

Carol Channing
Carol Channing (our season opening star) took an unfortunate fall the weekend of Sept 20th, broke her leg, had successful surgery but her doctors have prohibited her from performing until at least November. We spoke with her and she wishes to reschedule for a special show in the Spring.
She wanted to come out in a wheel chair but the Doctors wisely said no.
The good news is that our good friends the Side Street Strutters have modified their touring schedule so they can headline for the Oct shows giving Carol a chance to recover.
The California Pops is working with Carol Channing & Harry Kullijian Foundation to benefit and help rebuild California School's Performing Arts Education programs.
New 2nd Venue!
As a result of our audience requests, last year's sold-out shows and the need for additional parking, the Pops has added a brand new venue to our season schedule.
The Los Gatos Venture Christian Church completed this summer the construction of a beautiful theater style sanctuary that perfectly fits the community and hillsides. Sits 1100 folks. Parking for 700+ cars with plenty of handicap parking at side entrances. Yes- 3 sets of bathrooms. A stage with new sound/lighting system fitting the Pops. 2 mega projection screens and a jumbotron. Plus a glass window hidden behind the stage curtains that is almost 3 stories tall by 100 feet. When the curtains fully open- yes- you're looking at trees. Ahhhhh....
